Since the first unit rolled off the production line in 1924, the Meisterstück fountain pen has been the ultimate luxury writing utensil. Described by Jérôme Lambert, CEO of Montblanc, as a “power pen”, the list of influential figures to have penned world-altering documents with the instrument range from JFK to Nelson Mandela.
This year, the Meisterstück turns 90. To celebrate this momentous occasion, Montblanc has unveiled a host of limited edition collectibles, including a range of innovative watches and writing utensils.
Perhaps most notably, the Meisterstück Collection includes the Meisterstück 90 Years limited edition fountain pen. Crafted in Hamburg, the high-quality writing utensil is not only deliberately hand-sculpted by master craftsmen, but also boasts a unique red gold nib with a specialist ’90 Years’ engraving, marking its ninth decade.
For serious collectors, the Limited Edition 90 is undoubtedly the most desirable product in the range. Comprising a fountain pen and rollerball in LeGrand size (and limited to just 90 pieces) the utensils feature a cap ring set with 90 brilliant diamonds, solid red gold attributes with guilloche engraving and a mother-of-pearl Montblanc emblem.
Also available – for the year of the anniversary only – are a selection of one-off rollerball and ballpoint pens, each boasting an Au750 gold finish with the same ’90 Years’ design.
If timepieces are of interest, the Meisterstück Heritage Collection will see the launch of numerous finely tuned watches later this year.
