LUX* South Ari Atoll in the Maldives has revealed a full refurbishment of its water villas, mixing relaxed coastal design with thoughtful craftsmanship. The redesigned spaces reflect the surrounding seascape, using light woods, tactile textiles and soft, neutral tones that take their cues from the ocean and island light.

Each villa now features bespoke furniture, ombré curtains in soft blues and whites, and hand-woven textures across bed headers and seating. Indoor plants and natural materials enhance the connection to the outdoors, while large windows flood the space with natural light. The bathrooms include deep bathtubs with views over the lagoon, while outdoor terraces offer overwater hammocks, loungers and direct access to the sea. The design focuses on calm, minimalist elegance, paired with elevated comfort and privacy.

Guests at the resort can snorkel straight from their villas, swim alongside whale sharks with the in-house marine biologist or relax at the overwater LUX* ME Spa. The property also features eight restaurants, five bars and a wide variety of wellness and water-based activities. The redesign is part of LUX* South Ari Atoll’s continued effort to merge sustainable practices with high-end hospitality. The resort recently earned its second consecutive Forbes Five-Star Award and was named ‘Best for Families’ by Condé Nast Johansens.
