Known for her unique building designs, Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid has conceptualised some of the world’s most ambitious construction projects. From the 780-room exoskeleton hotel in Macau to the United Arab Emirates’ space age ME by Meliá Dubai hotel, Hadid’s distinct style has made her one of the world’s most sought-after designers – while inspiring a number of collaborations beyond architecture.
However, with news of Hadid’s debut lifestyle collection at Harrods, it looks as though the famed designer may be moving away from partnerships with the likes of Fendi and Donna Karan; choosing instead to go it alone.

Recently launched in the Knightsbridge store, the homeware collection by Zaha Hadid Design offers a selection of weird and wonderful products, ranging from GBP 38 (US $60) bone china cups to limited edition serving platters with a GBP 9,999 (US $15,980) price tag.
Also included in the collection are numerous furniture pieces, a chess set and full range of scented candles. According to Woody Yao, director of Zaha Hadid Design, the homeware pieces are designed to “subtly reference” Hadid’s architecture, but are not created as “miniature buildings”.
Launched in late September to coincide with the London Design Festival, the full homeware collection is available on the second floor of Harrods, alongside a selection of limited edition artworks by Hadid.
