Aman’s iconic flagship resort, Amanpuri is celebrating 35 years with a reopening revealing its extensive renovation. Situated on its own peninsula in Phuket, Thailand, the former coconut plantation is blessed with a private beach and breathtaking views across the property. The resort’s standalone Pavillions have all had their Thai design enhanced with new wood flooring, new bathrooms and exposed vaulted ceilings which create a fresh lofty, and contemporary feel. Nine of the pavilions have also had the addition of swimming pools.
The resort’s signature Japanese restaurant, Nama has been reimagined by Kengo Kuma in a split-level style, with a new home atop the sweeping staircase offering views of the Andaman Sea. Nama’s old beachfront location has been transformed into a beach restaurant set to open in December 2023 − the perfect spot for sundowners and laidback lunches. Adding to its Holistic Wellness Centre, Amanpuri has included a new spa house which is fully immersed in nature. Hydrotherapy facilities, a Vichy shower room, a Banya and an Infrared sauna are just some of the features in the new spa house. The resort has also added several new wellness and fitness-related experiences that harness its coastal setting, such as a private surfing experience and cycling sessions.
