French luxury hotel company Groupe Barrière is making its US debut this summer with the opening of Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York, a Stephen B. Jacobs Group-designed building nestled among the cobbled streets and red brick townhouses of Tribeca.
Situated at 456 Greenwich Street, the 97 light-filled rooms and suites by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio will evoke the style of a Parisian apartment, with Art Deco-inspired design, a graceful palette of light lavenders, pinks and greens and custom wallpaper depicting Tribeca scenes. Three signature penthouse suites on the top floors can be connected to form a three-bedroom residence, which is surely destined to become one of the most sought-after hotel apartments in Tribeca.
Signature Barrière touches include the first American outpost of Fouquets brasserie, overseen by legendary French chef Pierre Gagnaire, and a Spa Diane Barrière will bring a dash of French elegance to this energetic corner of Manhattan, while the 80-seat Cannes Screening Room will nod to Barrière’s long ties to the French and American film industries.
As well as a rooftop terrace garden with views of the Manhattan skyline, the hotel will introduce a private members’ club with a cultural events programme, blending New York lifestyle with French art de vivre, says general manager Gilles Stellardo.
