Set on the southwestern coast of Sri Lanka, where the teardrop island meets the Indian Ocean, Anantara Kalutara Resort is a Geoffrey Bawa-inspired tropical hideaway surrounded by swaying palms and crashing waves. As if the laid-back destination wasn’t already relaxing enough, the resort has partnered with French foot guru Bastien Gonzalez to open the first Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio in Sri Lanka, offering well-heeled visitors the chance to indulge in a world-class hand or foot treatment while holidaying in paradise.
Gonzalez’s revolutionary pedicures and manicures – part medical remedy, part beauty treatment – have earned him a loyal following of fans including Hollywood legends and members of royal households, and his Pedi:Mani:Cure Studios can be found in some of the best hotels around the world, each under the guidance of a Gonzalez protégé.
As well as his signature pedicure and manicure, the studio offers a number of more decadent treatments including the Bastien Duo, in which two therapists give their undivided attention to the hands, feet, legs and arms for 75 heavenly minutes.
Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio by Bastien Gonzalez is the latest addition to the resort’s Anantara Spa, a two-storey sanctuary offering treatments incorporating local ingredients such as coconut and green tea, as well as Ayurvedic treatments that balance mind, body and soul.
