World Islands Dubai will be welcoming a new member to its hotel family with the announcement that the InterContinental Resort Portofino, The Heart of Europe will be taking up residence in 2026.
The first resort property by the InterContinental brand in the emirate is set to feature 466 rooms and suites that showcase a blend of contemporary Mediterranean design and traditional Italian influences, inspired by the charm of Portofino and the Italian Riviera as well as unimpeded sea views.
The Italian theme continues when it comes to food with gourmands told to expect authentic culinary experiences from the Mediterranean.
The new hotel will be a part of The Heart of Europe Coral Institute, a centre that protects and rehabilitates marine life and coral reefs, and nature lovers will be able to gaze upon marine life in the hotel itself with floor-to-ceiling aquariums across six floors.
Other amenities will include a rustic roof garden that offers views of Dubai skyline and a place to relax and unwind in a serene, eco-friendly setting; perfect for mum and dad when the kids are enjoying the Kingdom of Portofino featuring a kids’ club, theatre, outdoor play, and water park.
“Being a one-of-a-kind first in the emirate, the new resort is poised to redefine the leisure and luxury space in Dubai, promising an immersive experience for all guests,” says Haitham Mattar, Managing Director – India, Middle East and Africa, IHG Hotels & Resorts.
