The iconic Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel in Hanoi, which was established in 1901 and has played host over the decades to numerous heads of state, royalty, actors, writers and musicians, has introduced six new suites to its historic Heritage Wing. The six new Metropole Suites join the three Legendary Suites named after former guests of the hotel: Graham Greene, Somerset Maugham and Charlie Chaplin, who famously honeymooned there. The six new Metropole Suites, two on each of the three floors, with either garden or city street views, span 70 square metres and feature high ceilings and a parlour-cum-study with a desk and a minibar between the living room and the bedroom.
Singapore-based David Grace Designs International has ensured that the suites maintain a traditional aesthetic and feel. A French colonial décor with a Vietnamese influence runs throughout the interior of the rooms, incorporating select original fixtures, while also introducing a considerable measure of bespoke comfort, advanced technology and vibrant colour. New art-deco bathrooms, walk-in showers, a French bathtub and luxury amenities complete the offering. In the new suites, history meets innovation with flat-screen TV’s, a sound bar, mood lighting and modern appliances.
