Following its reopening last year after a top-to-toe makeover, Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor in Siem Reap has introduced a collection of five unique experiences that allow guests to dive deep into the heart of this wondrous destination. The five Raffles Curated Journeys have been created in partnership with local business owners and entrepreneurs who are able to share insights into the destination not available on a typical tour.
After meeting for a cocktail at Raffles’ Elephant Bar, local foodie Evi-Elli La Valle will lead guests on a night-time tuk tuk tour of Siem Reap via some of the best eateries in the city, stopping off to sample local delicacies and talk to chefs, while gallerist and art aficionado Robina Hanley will take guests on a bespoke tour through town to meet with local designers and artists.
Early risers can be among the first guests to cast their eyes on the magnificent temples of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm with a chauffeur-driven sunrise vespa tour, whizzing among the temples and ruins before the crowds arrive, and local business owner Adam Rodwell will guide guests on a shopping tour of Siem Reap’s old French Quarter and the trendy Kandal Village neighbourhood, during which he will introduce guests to artisans and boutique owners, all accompanied by a Raffles Butler.
Finally, guests can join local entrepreneur Oum Sophea Pheach for an in-depth tour of the Golden Silk Farm, a silk-weaving farm and workshop where ancient weaving techniques are used to make gorgeous textiles, followed by a guided tour of Banteay Srei temple and a Cambodian picnic lunch.
