"Gone are the days of pan flute music and women with cucumber-covered eyes,” according to THE THIEF.
The hotel has opened Norway’s newest spa, which it boasts is part of a contemporaneous new wave of design, but it also lays claim to be the capital’s largest.
The 800 square metre THIEF SPA features a typical pool, sauna, steam room and hammam combo – along with a well-stocked gym and six treatment rooms. But owner Petter A Stordalen has put at least as much attention into the edgy aesthetics, as well as the facilities.
“We’ve put as much thought and care into the spa as we put into our rooms. Now with this last piece of THE THIEF puzzle in place, we’re taking Scandinavian wellness traditions to new heights, fusing them with the best the world has on offer”, said Stordalen.
The 12-metre swimming pool takes centre stage, with its transitioning blue and green lights someone reminiscent of the aurora borealis, with added red hues. The celestial ceiling is dotted with lights and accompanied by candlelight.
The spa would not be complete without THIEF HAMAM, the only Turkish bathing facility in Oslo. The wet-room is crowned with a heated marble slab – the altar on which guests can have their stress scrubbed away.
