The recent Geneva International Motor Show, also known as Salon International De L’auto 2015, heralded a fleet of new arrivals, concepts and, as always, rumours. None of the debuts, however, matched the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 concept – a four-door British interpretation of a high performance sportscar that harks back to the marque’s racing roots. “Making its global debut at the Geneva Show, “The EXP 10 Speed 6 is the ultimate expression of our vision for Bentley’s future – a powerful, exquisite and individual concept,” the company’s chairman said.
Meanwhile, Bentley’s Continental GT has been rebooted with a full complement of new exterior features. The new front bumper has been treated to more prominent fenders, with a range of new licks also on offer. Optional upgrades are also available on the inside, with new seat patterns, brightware elements, driver instruments, steering wheel and ergonomic gear paddles. On-board WiFi also can also connect the car to personal devices and will be made available across the entire Continental family.
If Bentley fans want to induce even more adrenaline then perhaps it’s time to don some snowshoes for “Power on Ice”. The winter driving experience made a strong return in 2015, offering drivers the chance to get slippy with the Mulsanne Speed and Continental GT3-R on the frozen lakes of Finland. The tracks, buried beneath six feet of ice, were personally designed by four-time world rally champion Juha Kankkunen. There are only 300 examples of the GT3-R, so drivers are given plenty of tuition – and supervision.
