Wrapping up the iconic car show at Pebble Beach, the Concours d'Elegance has come to an end, and the 2015 Best of Show Winner was announced this afternoon: A 1924 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A, F. Ramseier & Cie Worblaufen Cabriolet.
Italian car company Isotta Fraschini has long been considered one of the most luxurious automobile manufacturers in the world. Often featuring spacious interiors, impeccable details both inside and out, a remarkable engine, and a cabriolet body, the 2015 winner has been described by Sandra Button, chairman of Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, as "absolutely gorgeous."
Below, Sandra gave us exclusive intel about the event, and all the exciting details surrounding the concentration of the world's most vauable and luxurious cars on the cliffs of Pebble Beach.
The event
Each year the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance invites 200 of the world’s top collector cars to be showcased on the famed 18th hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links and compete for our “Best of Show” award. We take pride in inviting only the best collector cars to appear and we judge them carefully. In the early morning the automobiles pull onto the lush green fairway, posing in front of Carmel Bay along the coast of California. We make history here too; new cars and concepts debut throughout the week leading up to the Pebble Beach Concours.
This year
Each year a new set of special features are highlighted. The 2015 special features will include Ferrari, duPont, Pope, designs by Carrozzeria Touring, Postwar Cunninghams, Mercury Customs, British pre-war sports cars, Lincoln Continental 75th anniversary, and Shelby GT350 Mustang 50th anniversary. On August 14, “Ferraris that Raced in the Forest” will retrace the original Pebble Beach Road Race course.
Ambiance
The cars displayed on the 18th fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links are fascinating; the people admiring the cars are quite genteel, while serene music plays in the background. The calm of an earlier era is evident. Yet, despite the calm, there is a crackling of energy in the air and it is clear that the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is really something special.

Rub shoulders with
Jay Leno has served as the host of our opportunity drawing for many years, and in the past we have showcased cars owned by maharajas from India as well as other royals and celebrities such as Jerry Seinfeld and Patrick Dempsey.
After dark
There are a host of receptions, dinners and dances, some of which include live entertainment, but many of these require individual invitations. Dozens of manufacturers have their own private parties, where they debut concepts and new cars, inviting their best customers to take part in history.
Stay
Pebble Beach Resorts (+001 800 877 0597; www.pebblebeach.com) are the best, of course, but these hotels – The Lodge at Pebble Beach, The Inn at Spanish Bay and Casa Palmero – are reserved for our entrants and judges. If you want to stay at any one of these hotels, you need to begin by seeking out a great car.
Dine
Pebble Beach Resorts offers the finest in dining and the Monterey Bay area also hosts numerous great restaurants with recognised chefs.
Wear
Resort casual with layers is appropriate for most car and driving events on the peninsula while cocktail attire is appropriate for most evening soirées. For Concours Sunday, some people like to dress in period clothing and others prefer more formal attire. We invite all our guests to add a dash of panache and bring their hats.
Must do
Don’t miss the moment we announce “Best of Show”. That is really the grand finale of Pebble Beach Automotive Week. On one occasion, Ralph Lauren was so excited about his car winning that he skipped the door and leaped out over the side of his Mercedes-Benz to claim his award. My personal can’t miss moment takes place early on Concours Sunday.
Before the sun rises, and while fog still lingers on the edge of Carmel Bay, the cars make their way onto the show field one by one. They line up for the day ahead, and there is this serene calmness that settles over the entire field before the crowds of enthused spectators gather. In that moment, I am always amazed by all that I see before me.
