Ferrari has announced its new attraction and first theme park in Europe with a hotel in the shape of a Formula 1 car's front wing.
The Ferrari Land resort is due to open in PortAventura in 2016, promising the brand’s first hotel as well as Europe's fastest and highest ‘vertical accelerator’. While Ferrari has been tight-lipped about precisely how high, the park’s 249.3-foot Shambhala will take some beating – it is currently the continent’s tallest.

The luxury carmaker has reportedly been inundated with requests for parks following the 2010 opening of Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Andrea Perrone, CEO of Ferrari's branding division said the firm welcomes the opportunity to move into Spain, “where we have many fans and followers".
The park operators plan to spend around EUR100 million (US $139 million) on Ferrari Land. The park will be slightly smaller than its UAE counterpart at around 75,000 sq m, compared to around 86,000 sq m.
