In 2025, Aqua Expeditions the leader in luxury small-ship expeditions is expanding its offerings with the addition of three new itineraries in the wildest, most remote corners of East Indonesia. The superyacht will offer a highly exclusive 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio of personalized service and feature cuisine from chef Benjamin Cross using the region’s ingredients and spice routes. A seven-night Ambon to Kaimana Expedition combines the best of the Spice Islands with the new unexplored charters of West Papua. Guests will go from exploring the Dutch Fort Belgica to three remote island groups of Koon, Gorong, and Watubela — a divers’ paradise. Other stops along the route will showcase lush mangrove forests, limestone islands, traditional villages and a once-in-a-lifetime experience of swimming with whale sharks.
Two separate seven-night expeditions will take guests from the vibrant town of Kaimana, to Triton Bay and Namatote, known for incredible seascapes, coral reefs, and thriving underwater ecosystems. Sailing on to the Asmat region, a remote part of West Papua known by few travellers, private tenders will speed guests up the waterways and deep into the jungle toward the traditional villages. The expedition ends at the spectacular Kiti Kiti waterfall that thunders directly into the open sea. The twelve-night itinerary from Kaimana to Sorong brings together a mix of culture, wildlife, and underwater adventure. Guests will have the chance to visit the tribe’s communal houses and observe their unique lifestyle. Tenders will take travellers through jellyfish lakes and cave systems before rounding out the expedition in Mayalibit Bay.
