Once upon a time, Indian Ocean luxury resorts were designed for couples and romantic escapes, with only a handful of larger accommodation options for those rare occasions when a whole family would travel together. But times are changing quickly and demand from family and multi-generational groups has soared. Just over two years since its debut, Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort & Villas has reopened post-pandemic with a collection of soon-to-launch private villas and a raft of daily guest experiences to woo Indian Ocean-bound visitors.
Families will find an abundance of space to play and reconnect at the new Two- and Four-Bedroom Anantara Pool Villas, spacious hideaways set back from the beach in their own private gardens. Decorated the same pared-back style as the rest of the resort, the villas evoke the white sand beaches and natural colours of the island, with colourful accents reminiscent of the green sugar cane fields and vibrant coral reefs around it.
Residents will benefit from in-villa check-in and the services of a private butler throughout their stay, as well as in-villa spa treatments and a private chef on demand.
New daily activities at the resort include guided forest walks, local cultural tours of the historic town of Mahebourg, snorkelling in Blue Bay marine park and a huge choice of wellness activities including yoga, meditation, tai chi and stretching, and new three, five and seven-day wellness programmes at Anantara Spa.
