Before winter weather puts a dampner on rooftop revelry in the capital, book in for a night of skylines and cocktails at The Berkeley’s Rooftop Bar. Usually reserved just for in-house guest use, this summer it opened – with an all-new look – for outside guests too. Nestled between Knightsbridge and leafy Belgravia, the views over the city are stunning, especially at sunset. The perfect spot for an al fresco rendez-vous, the bar has a pool for cooling dips and a menu filled with summer-inspired sips. Grab a striped lounger, and make the most of the summer sun with a glass of rosé, sangria or a Pool Party cocktail – a blend of Campari, Chambord, rhubarb, strawberry bitters and Fever-Tree soda water. Getting hungry? Then nibble on seared beef with truffle artichoke pesto, a classic Panzanella salad, marinated squid with courgette spaghetti, or a refreshing watermelon, cherry tomato and feta salad with a backdrop of Knightsbridge’s red brick buildings, Belgravia’s charming crescents and Hyde Park’s bucolic scenery.
