Marriott International has signed an agreement with Relentless Developments and Salboy Ltd to bring W Hotels and W Residences to Manchester within the city’s new St Michael’s development. Slated for a 2027 opening, the hotel will be located in central Manchester, within walking distance to the city’s iconic Town Hall and Central Library. Situated in a prime central location linking the historic quarter with the Spinningfields business district and the city’s retail areas, the hotel is anticipated to feature 162 rooms and suites. W Manchester aims to bring the brand’s bold design, distinctive dining and always-on programming to the city as well as signature spaces including the Living Room, WET deck, W Lounge, AWAY Spa and FIT fitness centre.
The luxury residences will offer owners all the amenities and services of a W Hotel, including 24-hour concierge (W’s whenever/wherever service), round-the-clock in-residence dining, laundry and dry cleaning. W Residences Manchester will be the brand’s first outside London and one of only 20 worldwide. The brand joins an impressive line-up of international companies at the transformative St Michael’s development. The announcement of W Manchester reaffirms the growth of W Hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with new openings planned around the world including Naples, Prague and Ras Al Khaimah. W Manchester will mark the brand’s third property in the UK, following W London and W Edinburgh.
