Dubai’s flag carrier has announced Cristiano Ronaldo as its latest Global Ambassador.
Emirates, an official FIFA Worldwide Partner, paired the Real Madrid superstar with fellow ambassador Pelé at a press conference in Madrid, where it also kicked off its video campaign, which stars the duo.
The video depicts the co-ambassadors among fans aboard an A380 lounge.
Two-time FIFA Player of the Year, Ronaldo will captain Portugal in his third World Cup – and his second as captain.
“Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Pelé are well known around the world,” said Boutros Boutros, Emirates divisional senior vice president of corporate communications and brand.
“It is not only that their names and faces are synonymous with top-quality football, but also that they have the ability to inspire and connect with people within and beyond the sports arena. Each year Emirates is involved in more than 200 sports events, where fans and customers share exclusive experiences,” he continued.
The announcement comes two months ahead the world’s most watched sporting event in Brazil this summer.
