Aircraft aficionados will be able to spend the night in a special KLM Airplane Apartment, as part of a new content by the airline.
Participants must pick a date between November 28 and 29, explaining why they should win a free stay via Airbnb – in 100 words or fewer.
The two-bedroom three-bed plane is equipped to sleep four overnight guests but maintains a full complement of eight bathrooms. KLM claims the aircraft has crossed the globe 3,675 times, but it’s now parked beside the runway of Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport.
The 366 square metre plane contains a large living room, one master bedroom and two kitchens. It comes with Wi-Fi, a toaster, a coffeemaker, First Class chairs, a games console and panoramic cockpit window.
The Airbnb entry explains there are plenty of books and magazines to enjoy, along with some “all time classic” movies, such as Snakes on a Plane, The Aviator, Top Gun or Disney’s Planes, which are available on the home cinema system.
If you’d rather enjoy the view from the cockpit, with 12 metres of leg space, guests can watch planes take off and alight in their own “back yard”.
