If money is no object, or you happen to have very helpful in-laws, then perhaps consider jetting to Rome for your nuptials.
Rome Cavalieri is offering “the ultimate wedding” for a million dollar price tag, which is designed for a bride, groom and 100 of their nearest and dearest.
Arriving in style, the happy couple can descend on the Italian capital by private jet and arrive at the Waldorf Astoria hotel via a chauffeur-driven vintage car, before checking into the Penthouse Suite.
The 250 square metre space boasts four original pieces from Andy Warhol and a Karl Lagerfeld-designed sofa. It also offers panoramic views of Rome from the private roof terrace, which contains a gazebo, solarium and Jacuzzi.
The king-sized bed will be dressed in the couple’s choice of monogrammed Pratesi Paradise linen that will also be shipped to their home upon departure. The keepsake is all the more coveted when you consider Pratesi can only weave 10 metres of linen per week.
All 100 guests will receive hand-written invitations on hand-crafted paper produced on the Amalfi Coast, inviting them to not only attend the wedding ceremony but to stay in the 50 Executive Floor rooms and suites. All of the 7th and 8th floor rooms are entitled to a private butler service.
To guarantee stunning wedding pictures at the Trevi Fountain, Coliseum and Spanish Steps, guests are also entitled to the Grand Spa, as well as professional hair and makeup services.
But if all of this seems a little too stressful to organise, a personal wedding planner is on hand to oversee a seamless wedding experience before, during and after vows are exchanged at the ceremony venue of choice.
The arrival will have a touch of period drama, owing to the horse-drawn carriage, and departure will see the couple leaving Fabio Salini-designed wedding bands. The master jeweller is also available to create bespoke favours for attendees.
And the stylish transport will lead the newlyweds to a roof garden cocktail reception and a seven-course menu and cake, courtesy of the triple Michelin-starred celeb chef Heinz Beck.
If that’s not enough, the hotel provides free-flowing Dom Perignon, caviar, luxury centrepieces, afireworks display, balloon release and an optional once-in-a-lifetime experience; the bride or groom can treat each other to sports car test drives, private art classes, cultural tours and more.
