Fans of the BBC’s Sherlock series might want to put their kids forward for a mini-detective experience in London. A 15-minute drive from Baker Street and a stone’s throw from New Scotland Yard, Conrad London St James has launched its two-hour ‘Detective Project’ experience, complete with finger print testing and full forensic suits, which can be kept and taken home afterwards.
During the experience kids will be set a series of tasks surrounding a mock crime scene and learn how to uncover fingerprints using professional equipment such as powdering with fibreglass brushes, magnetic strips and ink pads. In addition, the mini-detectives will be taught how to match and trace several types of shoe marks in order to unearth further evidence.
At the end of their time as an investigator, the super-sleuth kids will be given an evidence bag containing crime scene tape, pencil, pad and a detective award. Then, after an exciting day, families can dine at the Blue Boar restaurant, complete with a Little Piglets menu, before sleeping soundly, assured that they caught the culprit.
The Conrad London St. James ‘Detective Project’ experience (two hours) starts from £340. The experience is bookable through the hotel’s concierge and is for residents only. The overnight ‘Mini-Detective’ family package is priced from £777 for two adults and two children.
