Counting edible golf leaf, beluga caviar and Canadian lobster among its many decadent ingredients, Honky Tonk restaurant in London has expertly constructed the most expensive burger on the planet.
Aptly dubbed the “Glam Burger” and priced at GBP 1,100 (US $1,800), the finished product took the Chelsea restaurant, and head chef Chris Large, three weeks to develop, sourcing only the finest ingredients from around the globe.
Keen foodies willing to part with their hard-earned cash are treated to 220g of prime Kobe wagyu beef, 60g of New Zealand venison and a poached Canadian lobster tail, all topped with a black truffle brie, maple syrup bacon and grated white truffle; suitably served in an edible gold bun.
The London restaurant, which serves a bevvy of American classics, created the burger in partnership with Groupon, who are offering would-be fine diners the chance to win a Glam Burger.
"After sourcing the best possible ingredients to create this masterpiece, the winner will certainly have a dinner to remember," Chris Large, head chef at Honky Tonk, told the Telegraph.
Unsurprisingly, the world’s most expensive burger comes with a calorie count to match, surpassing the recommended daily intake for an adult at 2,618 calories.
