Sediba Sa Rona is set to open March 2026 in Botswana’s Khwai Concession—a new luxury safari lodge operated by Desert & Delta Safaris. The 15-suite property is being developed in partnership with Savanna Expeditions, a citizen-owned safari company, on the site of the former Khwai River Lodge and equipped as a base for photographic safaris.

Meaning ‘Our Source of Water’, Sediba Sa Rona is designed to balance comfort, wildlife immersion and sustainable tourism. Its footprint preserves the layout of the original lodge to minimise environmental impact, while the architectural style pairs natural materials with modern detailing. Each tented suite, including a two-bedroom family unit, features a private deck overlooking the Khwai River.

Guests will be able to explore one of Africa’s richest wildlife corridors, where the Okavango Delta meets the Moremi Game Reserve. Twice-daily game drives, mokoro excursions and optional helicopter photography flights offer diverse ways to experience the region’s landscapes and wildlife, including elephants, big cats, wild dogs and more than 500 bird species.

The lodge’s main areas include a swimming pool, spa, elevated viewing decks and outdoor dining spaces. Community empowerment is central to the project, with local ownership, employment opportunities and a strong focus on specialist guiding and storytelling.

Sediba Sa Rona also serves as a base for Desert & Delta’s new Epic Experiences programme, offering custom itineraries across Botswana—from sleep-outs at Tsodilo Hills to birding expeditions and tiger fishing in the Okavango.
