Anyone journeying to the antipodes is sure to incur some costs, but while a visit to New Zealand isn’t as arduous as a hike to Mount Doom, this trip could be just as epic. This new 44-day customisable New Zealand luxury adventure is being offered by Frontiers International Travel and can be booked year-round, with prices starting from US $83,000 per couple.
The adventure mostly takes place in New Zealand, with a 35-day itinerary that includes white-water rafting down the Rangitaiki River; hiking tours through national parks; wine tastings at historic wineries in the South Island’s Cromwell region and helicopter flights to remote locations.
What’s more, there’s fly-fishing at top-tier lodges; tours of the glowworm-lined Waitomo Caves; and there’s even time to sail through the Bay of Islands. Accommodations include various luxury lodges and hotels, including the Lodge at Kauri Cliffs.
After an intense and memorable month, it’s time for some Hawaiian respite, with nine days spent between Maui’s Montage Kapalua Bay and Honolulu’s Halekulani hotel. Frontiers recommends November through April for warm weather and clear skies but wants you to have the trip your way – meaning you can add or subtract from anything in the default schedule.
