Much-loved private island hideaway Kanuhura is set to become part of the Six Senses family next year, joining Six Senses Laamu as the brand’s second property in the Maldives.

Situated in the Lhaviyani Atoll, a 40-minute seaplane flight from Malé, the award-winning resort will undergo a series of enhancements in the coming months, including the addition of new family suites, private pools in the overwater villas, original dining concepts and a brand new spa and wellness offering.

The resort’s watersports and dive centre will be revamped in partnership with Ocean Wings, which strives to educate its customers in the importance of ocean conservation, as well as providing unforgettable over and underwater experiences; while Kanuhura’s organic garden will be re-landscaped, providing more space to grow fresh produce to use in cooking classes and the resort’s farm-to-fork dining concepts.

As well as the main resort, Kanuhura is home to two deserted islands, Jehunuhura and Masleggihura, which will be preserved for private dining and beach picnics when the property completes its transformation in late 2022.
