Mandarin Oriental is opening a second London address in Hanover Square that will be home to an Akira Back restaurant, 50 guestrooms and 78 private residences.
Designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, the company behind the Pompidou Centre in Paris and the Cheesegrater building in London, Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, London, is due to open this winter, with rooms and suites by Studio Indigo and public spaces by Tokyo-based design firm Curiosity.
The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair promises a tranquil escape from the bustle of London life, with a 25-metre pool, relaxation room and an extensive selection of bespoke wellness treatments. As well as a signature Akira Back restaurant, the acclaimed chef will bring his ABar Lounge concept to London for the first time.
The Mayfair hotel will join its sister property, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London, as the second MO address in the UK.
