Want to know what a $70 million makeover looks like? You’d have to head Down Under and take a closer look at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, which has been transformed into a luxurious modern icon. Celebrating its 60th anniversary—alongside the Sofitel brand’s very own Diamond Jubilee—the hotel’s revamp infuses some ‘60s glamour with plenty of contemporary elegance. Key updates include 436 redesigned rooms and suites, each outfitted with modern amenities, heritage-inspired touches, and the Sofitel MyBed experience.

Meanwhile, Tilda and Bar Tilda, have opened in the lobby. Both dining venues have been designed by renowned firm Fender Katsalidis, who have drawn on the colours of the Australian landscape, incorporating earthy tones and textures – from banquettes inspired by the red dust of the desert to tables with burgundy marmoleum. Tilda’s menu has been designed to capture the essence of contemporary Australian dining, led by Executive Chef Elliott Pinn and Head Chef Nathanael Merchant.
