One of the Maldives’ finest resorts is adding a five-bedroom feather to its proverbial cap. Jumeirah Vittaveli is adding a new Royal Residence to its roster of accommodations, which already number an array of immaculate beachfront and over-water villas. The new option, due to open January 2017, is a five-bedroom / six-bathroom retreat than spans 3,500 square metres, including its own private beach, two pools, and an exclusive arrival jetty.

The experience begins immediately upon landing at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, with a priority customs service and a personal welcome at the airport, followed by a 20-minute luxury yacht transfer to the island. Then a traditional reception awaits with a group of Bodu Beru drummers and dancers greeting you on the residence’s private jetty. The property’s manager will then lead a tour, which takes in the sunken lounge surrounded by a fragrant lily pond, to a full sized swimming pool looking out across the private beach.

Mealtimes will be events to remember with a 10-seater dining room table and an open air Teppanyaki style live kitchen on the far end overlooking the infinite ocean. The dining room sweeps into both the adjacent living room and the wine cellar by nolte, overseen by your personal chef who resides in the separate service quarters house, which has the capacity for up to four additional personnel.

The main 530-square metre “Sanctuary” includes the Master Bedroom, as well as a separate indoor living area, private spa treatment room and private gym outfitted with Life Fitness equipment. ‘The Villas’ (240 sqm & 195 sqm) boast king-size bed and twin beds respectively and flank the pool with their own private deck. Then ‘The Suite’ connects through a portico to the Royal Residence, and includes one king-sized and one twin bedded room, as well as separate living room and a 49 square metre private pool.

“The Royal Residence adds another dimension of luxury to Jumeirah Vittaveli. This completely self-sufficient hideaway includes its own arrival jetty with overwater bar, an open air kitchen, restaurant, private beach, two pools, spa and gym, separate living and dining pavilion as well as separate service quarters,” said Amit Majumder, general manager of Jumeirah Vittaveli.

“Guests can enjoy unrivalled privacy while still having all the activities and facilities of an award-winning resort at their fingertips. We have put much thought into planning out each little detail of the Royal Residence and I am confident that guests will be amazed by the level of service as well as privacy that they will experience when staying at this new ultimate tropical retreat.”
