While the world’s eyes are transfixed on Cairo ahead of the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum next year, Campbell Gray Hotels has revealed plans to open a boutique hotel and wellbeing centre at the Kings Polo Academy in west Cairo in 2022.
Seventy spacious rooms and suites will look over the manicured polo fields, the home of polo in Egypt since the academy opened in 2017. As well as a restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace, the hotel will be home to a library lounge, a PUREGRAY Health & Wellbeing centre and two swimming pools, all imagined by Cairo-based El Ghoneimi Architects.
Campbell Gray Hotels – founded by Scottish hotelier Gordon Campbell Gray in 2002 – will also manage a new Clubhouse next to the academy, with a signature restaurant, lounge bar and a field-side terrace, as well as an outdoor swimming club, fitness centre and equestrian centre for members.
