One of Italy’s finest hotels has announced a full schedule of Italian adventures for families and their little ones this summer with the launch of its annual IT Kids Club and Italian-inspired experiences. Children and teenagers at Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Resort can take part in a range of inimitable and Italian-inspired experiences including mastering the art of making a perfect pizza and miniature Piaggo Vespa rides.

Since it’s almost time for the Italian Grand Prix in September, little petrol heads can enjoy taking the miniature battery-operated Vespa for a spin around the IT Kids Club, with a miniature reproduction created by Peg-Pérego in collaboration with Piaggo. Alternatively, those with a need for speed can discover the thrill of driving a classic Italian Ferrari, via simulator. Then, to recalibrate, kids can find their balance between mind and body by taking part in Tai Chi and yoga classes while surrounded by greenery in a tranquil environment.

If that’s not enough, in addition to a whole swathe of other opportunities and activities, the whole family can embrace Roman culture as they train to become gladiators, with ancient combats taught by Rome’s Gladiatorial School. Everyone will dress up in a full gladiator kit donning a tunic, Roman sandals, protective gloves and a wooden sword. Upon passing the course, youngsters will receive a medal for “Tiro” – a first level gladiator.
