La Petite Maison’s story began over 30 years ago, as a little Provençal-style bistro in Nice, France, celebrating the purity and beauty of Niçoise cuisine. The original owner, Arjun Waney, was a regular visitor to the South of France and dreamt of exporting the La Petite Maison magic outside of France, franchising it – or LPM, as the restaurant collection is now known – all over the world. Fast forward to today, and LPM now has six restaurants – in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, London, Miami and Hong Kong – with a seventh just opened in Limassol, on the south coast of Cyprus.
Partnering with Mediterranean Hospitality Venture Limited (MHV), the award-winning restaurant has opened at the world-class Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, bringing its laid-back bistro-style cuisine to Cypriot shores. In fact, this new addition has a unique outdoor seafront location, within the gardens of the hotel, reminiscent of the French Riviera and seating 100 guests, allowing the restaurant to make full use of Cyprus’ extended summer season. Inside, it’s all muted tones and modern, minimalist accents in wood and marble.
Each restaurant has since stayed true to the La Petite Maison’s original vision to celebrate and share simple, yet fresh and light French Mediterranean and Niçoise cuisine, with the signature look of white table cloths and tables strewn with fresh lemons and juicy, vine-ripened tomatoes still very much part of the charm. And whilst there are new additions to the culinary line-up to give the Limassol location its own characteristics, die-hard LPM lovers can rest assured that crowd-pleaser dishes, such as burrata and tomato salad, green lentil salad, salt cod croquettes, tiger prawns and its famous vanilla cheesecake, are all still very much on the menu.
Whether you come for lunch or dinner, dress up or dress down, feel a little daring or a little irreverent, LPM is what’s it’s always been – a beautiful, whispered escape that feels as good for the soul as it does the stomach and filled with a heavy does of easy-going warmth and joie de vivre, imported directly from the French Riviera.
