In partnership with La Quinta Real Estate Group, Banyan Tree is set to open its first Spanish resort in 2026, Angsana Real de la Quinta Benahavis Marbella Resort and Residences. Perched at the top of a hill and nestled inside the 200-hectare Real de La Quinta residential community, the property will command expansive views over the rolling hills below and the blue Alboran sea. OBMI’s design, composed of clean lines and simple silhouettes, incorporates elegant brick wall patterns and stonework referencing local materials and building traditions. Modern and fluid interiors across the 90 nature-integrated guestrooms and suites, designed by MKV Design, honour the sense of retreat with ample windows providing an open feel, while social spaces dotted with orange trees and water features emulate a courtyard-style setting that reflects the destination’s Andalusian soul.
The hotel will also feature three dining venues, meeting spaces, spa and kids’ club, adult and family pools, and a wedding amphitheatre. To help with local immersion the resort will offer moonlit paddles around Real de la Quinta’s lake and nature hikes to explore local flora, with trips to the neighbouring UNESCO biosphere reserve. The branded residences in two- and three-bedroom configurations are a carefully choreographed composition of light and space which serve the needs of a family lifestyle.
