Tucked away in London’s trendy Marylebone, Dorset Square Hotel is a new member of Design Hotels with 38 bedrooms created by owner Kit Kemp. Along with husband Tim, the pair originally bought the hotel in 1985, but were forced to sell it to raise capital for other projects.
The husband and wife team have since reacquired the townhouse and brought it back to life with bold colours and contrasting fabrics, as well as one-off pieces of art and unique furnishings. “Hotels should be living things, not stuffy institutions,” says Kit, who has filled rooms with items collected from around the world.
