Sustainability and innovation in the aviation sector are set to be key talking points at this year’s edition of Arabian Travel Market (ATM). Running from May 6-9 at Dubai World Trade Centre, the 31st edition of the Middle East’s largest travel trade show will shine a light on the latest innovations and solutions designed to reduce the industry’s emissions, as well as exploring the role of startups in reshaping the sector.
Under the theme Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Entrepreneurship, the conference will bring together some of the biggest names in the world of aviation in partnership with Aviation X Lab and the Intelak programme.
Aviation X Lab, an aviation-specific incubator that works with some of the biggest names in the industry to address challenges and reshape the future of aviation, will share its plans to help reduce the industry’s carbon emissions to net zero by 2050 and put the spotlight on the increasing use of sustainable aviation fuel.
Also taking centre stage in the discussions is UAE-based business incubator Intelak, which works with aviation start-ups to foster the development of new ideas to meet sustainability challenges across the travel, aviation and tourism sectors.
“Amid growing concerns over climate change and the aviation industry’s contribution to greenhouse gas emissions, embracing sustainable alternatives has never been more critical,” says Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME, Arabian Travel Market.
“With a steadfast commitment to sustainability in the travel and tourism sector, ATM proudly provides a platform for the global aviation sector to exchange the latest insights and industry updates on environmental initiatives, including SAF.”
Airlines set to feature at this year’s exhibition include Emirates, flydubai, Saudia, flynas, Qatar Airways and Egypt Air alongside private jet companies such as MayFair Jets Group and Air Charter Service.
Innovation in the aviation sector will also be highlighted on May 7 when industry leaders from Cirium, Riyadh Air and IATA will convene on the global stage for the session, Looking Skyward for Innovation: How Aviation is Changing.
