Almost half of UK parents are willing to travel outside of Europe for a family holiday, based on a new report by Globehunters.
The online travel firm surveyed 1,000 parents in the UK and found that 46 percent were happy to face longer flight times and venture to further afield with their families, but 37 percent of respondents maintained they would not fly more than four hours with children.
Overall, parents were typically happy to travel by air on a family holiday with 83 percent willing to take to the skies with children.
“It’s now easier than ever to keep children entertained on long haul flights with an abundance of handheld entertainment options available,” said Globehunters Head of Marketing Leon Warner.”
“This will become even easier when the FAA’s decision to allow the use of electronic devices during take-off and landing take effect in late 2014.”
The survey also found that women were more willing to travel with children than men. Only 14 percent of women said they wouldn’t fly with their children for a holiday - whereas 24 percent of men were unwilling to bring children in tow.
