Have you been tempted by the incredible natural wonders and luxury hotels of AlUla in Saudi Arabia? Well, if you are based in Doha, you might have to just give into that travel lust as Qatar Airways has launched flights between the Qatari capital and the desert sanctuary.
Operating twice-a-week, the service will leave Doha at 7.30am on Fridays, landing in the Saudi destination at 10.10am with Sunday flights scheduled for 8.05am departure and 10.45am arrival.
The return journey from AlUla International Airport will take off from 12.15pm and arrive at Hamad International Airport at 2.25pm on Fridays. Sunday flights will take off from 11.45am and land in Qatar at 1.55pm.
“The continued growth and success of Al Ula’s tourism sector is intrinsically tied to our partnerships with global and regional airlines, and through our collaboration with Qatar Airways we are ushering in a new era of travel for the city,” says Rami AlMoallim, Vice President of Destination Management and marketing at the Royal Commission for AlUla.
“Every milestone achieved, from the opening of AlUla Airport to its remarkable expansion and the increase in routes, is crafted with the goal of welcoming travellers to this fascinating destination that must be seen and experienced to be believed.”
The route, which came into effect on Sunday (October 29, 2023), is the first of three new Qatar to Saudi Arabia services to come into operation by Qatar Airways, with Doha to Yanbu and Doha to Tabuk flights to begin on December 6 and December 14 respectively.
