Tailwind Air has made travelling across the East Coast faster and hassle-free. Less stressful than going through an airport and quicker than Amtrak, seaplane operator Tailwind Air has unveiled its new route between New York and Washington DC. Departure from Manhattan’s Skyport Marina means New Yorkers can skip the traffic-riddled trek to LaGuardia or JFK, and instead make a quick hop to East 23rd Street. Ninety minutes later the floatplane will glide them into Jet Aviation’s private facility at Washington Dulles International Airport.
Further increasing the convenience factor, and levels of luxury, travellers have the option to arrive just 10 minutes ahead of departure as no airport terminal also means no dreaded TSA screening. “Tailwind Air will offer the fastest, least stressful, premium way to travel between DC and Manhattan,” says Tailwind Air co-founder Peter Manice. Tailwind Air will offer two daily flights, six days a week, onboard an eight-seat Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft. Leather seats, air-conditioning, and the option to bring your pet with you on this dog-friendly carrier will no doubt make this an appealing aviation option for high-fliers.
