The transformation of one of London’s most iconic properties looks set to be completed by the end of 2024.
The Whiteley London, the former home of the English capital’s first department store, will be transformed into a mega residential and hospitality address, just a stone’s throw from Hyde Park.
Spanning 1.1 million square-feet, the building which has stood on the site since 1911, will soon be home to 139 residences each with a unique design, a 109-room Six Senses Hotel as well as 14 Six Senses service apartments.
Estimated to cost more than £1 billion upon completion, the first residents of The Whiteley are currently being welcomed where they will enjoy a wealth of amenities including a sports hall with padel, tennis, half-basketball, volleyball and badminton courts, music room, library, and children’s playroom.
On the food front, London’s gourmands can look forward to Nela, Amsterdam’s acclaimed, live fire restaurant, Effie by Pachamama Group, and Guillam Coffee House whetting and satisfying their appetites.
Prices for the residences start from £1, 515,000 with New York City-based designer, Kelly Behun’s curated three-bedroom apartment setting back potential buyers by £12.5million.
Regular guests of Six Senses Hotels will be excited to know that the brand’s first UK property will begin welcoming guests later in the year. The European flagship property of Six Senses, the hotel will showcase London’s biggest wellness and spa social club, Six Senses Place, that will sprawl over 60,000 square-feet as well as an Alchemy bar and relaxation room.
The project is a joint venture between property investment firm MARK and Hong Kong developer, CC Land with luxury homes specialist Finchatton acting as developing manager.
