While Givenchy may be stealing more headlines as the (widely rumoured) designer of the Kardashian wedding dress, the haute couture brand has opened its new Tokyo flagship store.
A little slice of Paris in Japan, the new store follows on from recent debuts in Las Vegas and Singapore. The 392-square metre space is spread over three floor of the ONE Omotesando building, where Givenchy is in good company alongside fellow LVMH brands Céline and Loewe.
The freestanding store’s façade is characterised by a strip of raw iron, aluminium mesh, golden motif and 11-metre high windows.
Interiors are inspired by the global flagship on rue Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, with rooms reminiscent of the label’s classic burnt oak delivery boxes. Womenswear sections feature calacatta marble, offset against menswear areas, which employ the use of grey basaltina volcanic stone.
Full product lines are available but, to commemorate the Japanese opening, Givenchy has produced a monochrome flower-camouflage print version of the popular Pandora bag.
And the opening comes just after American singer Alicia Keys was announced as upcoming face for Parfums Givenchy – the Grammy winner’s first ever beauty contract. A so-far-unnamed fragrance will be launched in September.
