Just 15 editions of the new Rolls-Royce “Cocktail Hamper” have been made, which is probably why the legendary car company has put up a stunning price tag. The hamper will cost GBP 26,366 (US$38,000) before tax and, according to the marque, was conceived to meet the needs of customers who wish to relax and enjoy something a little beyond the traditional glass of bubbly.
The designer behind the creation was Rolls-Royce Accessories Designer Sina Maria Eggl, who consulted with experts from Dorchester Collection’s London Hotels, The Dorchester and 45 Park Lane, to ensure the Hamper was perfectly appointed to cater for a vast selection of classic and contemporary cocktails – with a muddler, atomiser and whatever else you might need for a perfect picnic mojito.
The navy blue leather-bound lid withholds a range of bespoke, hand-made apparatus with both ergonomics and aesthetics in mind. On opening, an automatic light illuminates the hamper’s contents, reflecting from the mirrored surfaces to evoke the look and feel of a luxurious cocktail bar.
The attention to detail is reflected through the materials, with glassware coming from Theresienthal, Europe’s most revered glassmaker and supplier of many of the Continent’s Royal Courts. The glasses took a month to complete, with fifth generation Theresienthal craftspeople using traditional beech wood moulds, so no two glasses are the same, each finished with a platinum rim.
