Dubai is keeping the Guinness World Records team on their toes with another world-beating endeavour – and this one is giving us chills.
The emirate will soon be home to the world’s largest indoor ski resort, located within the Meydan One project, which will also include the world’s tallest residential building and world’s largest dancing fountain in addition to the longest indoor slope ever made.
The US $6.8 billion project will create homes for 78,000 people and introduce 300 restaurants and cafes over an expanse of 40 million square feet. To accommodate all the snow-lovers, a 350-room hotel will join the party, as well as a 100-berth marina and a 300-metre beach.
The project will extend the current Meydan facility, which houses the world-class horse race track used for the Dubai World Cup events, and will stretch toward Burj Khalifa, which is still the world’s tallest tower. Considering the temperatures in the emirate are currently pushing 45 degrees C it sounds like an ideal way to cool off. Let’s just hope there’s some clever green technology in play – watch this space.
