Rotana has announced 10 upcoming hotels in the UAE, Iran and Sudan this week, which are all due to open by 2020.
Five of the new properties will be in Dubai, increasing the emirate’s Rotana hotel count to 20. The bustling Creek area will welcome a 280-room hotel apartment complex under the Arjaan brand in 2017, followed by a smaller offering in Al Barsha, toward Dubai’s newer developments.
A larger 528-room Rotana hotel will also open adjacent to the WAFI retail and leisure development, alongside more hotel apartments. Once all the projects are open, Rotana will have 13,296 rooms on offer in the UAE.
“Dubai continues to be a focus market for us and with EXPO 2020 expected to further boost an already strong hospitality market,” said Omer Kaddouri, Rotana's president and CEO.
The firm will also enter Iran for the first time with four new dry hotels under the Rayhaan brand.

The city of Mashhad will welcome a 362 room hotel in 2017, followed by a 275 room facility the year after. Tehran will see two further Rayhaan properties by 2018 – including a 5-star hotel with 194 rooms.
“Iran’s tourism industry is bouncing back, highlighting the tremendous potential it has within the hospitality sector,” claimed Kaddouri.
And finally, the new Sudan property will be the second in the East African nation when it opens in Khartoum. It is expected to open in 2019.
