London, Paris, Milan… These cities all resonate strongly for those in the world of fashion and design. Yet increasingly, cities around the world continue to develop their reputation for fashion, and Dubai is of no exception. Heading full force towards the direction of becoming a true fashion hub, Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience (VFDE) 2015 will mark the third year of celebrations and fashion development in the Middle East.
Though one might assume Dubai has a considerable fashion reputation due to it’s rich retail offerings, it’s the intense effort in providing support for emerging talent that VFDE is all about. With the likes of Dubai Mall and Emaar, in partnership with Vogue Italia and sponsors such as OSN, Emirates, and Sephora, VFDE has already kick started with much success.
Throughout the weekend, designers from around the world are participating in “Who’s On Next? Dubai” an initiative to highlight the best design of the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
25 designers have been shortlisted by a renowned panel of judges made up of representatives of Pitti Uomo, Altaroma, Milan Fashion Week, and more. The showcase will provide the designers to receive critical feedback, resources for business development, and a chance to define their production resources.

Just one of the many events surrounding VFDE, a public fashion show will be held at the Dubai Mall this evening at 7pm to showcase these designers, and individual boutiques and brands will be holding events all throughout the evening. From Level Shoe District working with Tabitha Simmons, to BySymphony pairing up with Burberry and Razan Alazzouni, international celebrities and influencers are all in Dubai for this massive fashion celebration.
Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia sat on a panel with Mohamed Alabbar CEO of Emaar (the two original founders of VDFE) and CEO of Dubai Design and Fashion Council Nez Gebreel to greet the press.
Declaring the revolutionary change in both the fashion industry and the region itself, they claimed it’s their passion for young designers, which is core purpose of VFDE. The powerful panel look forward to the shaping landscape of fashion and design taking place in Dubai.
