The Bahamas is bracing itself for a new era of luxury, beginning next month. The new US $3.5 billion Baha Mar mega-resort will open ahead of the peak spring travel season when doors open to guests March 27.
Billed as “The New Riviera” with almost a kilometre of sandy beach, the resort will include Baha Mar Casino & Hotel, Rosewood at Baha Mar (left) and SLS LUX at Baha Mar, with Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar opening later in the year.
A total of 2,200 luxury guest rooms will be available across the first four openings, as well as the Jack Nicklaus-designed TPC at Baha Mar golf course, ESPA spa, pools, beach experiences, and many restaurants and high-end retail. After several years of planning and construction, the site will be officially opened in tandem with a glitzy bash in May.

If you’re not yet convinced, the Nassau island-based integrated gaming and luxury resort has just announced it will be offering the first night complimentary, when purchasing additional nights.
Guests booking room from now until April 30, for travel between May 7 and September 30, 2015, will receive the first night free when they book a two-night or more stay at the dazzling Baha Mar Casino & Hotel, three nights or more at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, four nights or more at SLS LUX Baha Mar and five nights or more at Rosewood Baha Mar.
"We are excited to welcome our very first guests to enjoy the 'first night on us' to share the best Baha Mar has to offer," said Paul V Pusateri, COO of Baha Mar. "It's the perfect time to travel to The Bahamas and experience the dazzling debut of the New Riviera."
The offer is based on double occupancy, per room, per night and the credit for the free night will be applied at check-out.
