An agreement was signed today to bring a Bulgari hotel to Dubai. The deal inked between Bulgari Hotels and Resorts and Meraas Holding will bring another luxury property to Jumeirah Bay Island off Jumeirah Beach Road, in the Dubai Marina area.
Dubai’s Bulgari hotel will be the fifth opening from the resort group, following Milan in 2004, Bali in 2006, London in 2012, and Shanghai, which is due to open in 2015.
Jumeirah Bay is a planned six million sq ft mixed-use development in the shape of a seahorse. Located off the coast of Jumeirah Beach Road, it will feature low rise residential villas and its own marina.
Surrounded by manicured gardens, The Bulgari Hotel will comprise 100 rooms and suites in the main hotel buildings, as well as 20 hotel villas and a full range of luxury hotel facilities.
“We are delighted to launch this visionary project that will convey Bulgari’s core values of contemporary design, magnificent craftsmanship and artistic detail,” said Bulgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin.
The contract was signed in Rome at Bulgari's historic flagship store, which dates back to 1933. It was recently reopened after a major overhaul that included a EUR 3.5 million renovation of the adjacent iconic Spanish steps.
