Never one to shy away from a record attempt, the United Arab Emirates has just added another prestigious title to its Guinness-verified portfolio.
During an exclusive press conference at the world’s tallest building this week, Emaar announced the official opening of At the Top, Burj Khalifa SKY, the highest man-made vantage point on earth.
Standing 555.7 metres (1,821 feet) above ground, the new deck sits 23 floors above the building’s standard viewing deck on level 148, and offers sweeping views across the pointed skyline of the Middle Eastern metropolis.
With the new launch, At the Top, Burj Khalifa SKY has been officially recognised as The Highest Observation Deck in the World by Guinness World Records, outstripping previous record holder Canton Tower in Guangzhou, China by some 67 metres (220 feet).
According to Emaar, the addition of the SKY level will “scale up” the standard visitor experience, while offering VIP customers the opportunity to enjoy a premium lounge with F&B services, boutique souvenir shopping and interactive activity zones.
The Burj Khalifa currently holds six Guinness World Records, including the tallest building, tallest freestanding structure, highest number of stories, highest occupied floor, highest outdoor observation deck and elevator with the longest travel distance in the world.
