Dubai’s grand designs come and go but not every epic construction makes it from the drawing board to the opening gala party. The Heart of Europe, however, is on track to wow tourists and homemakers alike when it fully opens 4 km off Dubai’s coastline.
Bentley Home Collection has inked a deal with the Sweden Island villa project, on one of the six European-themed islands that comprise mega luxury real estate project, The World Islands. The beachfront residences are the first in Dubai to be furnished by the furniture and homeware design firm, inspired by Bentley car interiors.
Ground has already been broken on Sweden Island in Dubai and concrete work is about to begin, according to developers. The first villa is due to be fitted and furnished in the first quarter of 2016 and the remaining nine Sweden Villas will be completed by 31st December 2016 – just in time for a fabulous Swedish themed New Year’s Eve extravaganza on the island.
Each villa will be adorned with exclusive high-end home interiors that combine traditional and modernist designs with “a little spirit of the British gentleman driver, which the Bentley motor is renowned for”. The seven-bedroom villas are designed by architect Carlo Colombo, inspired by structure of inverted Swedish Viking vessels.
Fittingly, the villas include snow and sauna rooms, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows, exclusive finishes and fit outs, expansive balconies, a gym and spa, a private infinity pool and landscaped gardens. Throughout the year, Sweden Island will host authentic themed events and celebrations such as Midsummer, National Day, St Martin’s Day, Walpurgis Eve, Saint Lucia and crayfish parties, as well as celebrating Swedish film, music and arts.
