Work is now underway to revamp Monaco’s esteemed Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo and, as it turns out, guests will be able to benefit in more ways than expected.
Rather than lose the hotel’s used furniture and memorabilia to landfill, a range of items will be made available to purchase at auction, from January 25-28.
Over 3,000 lots will be put up for auction, including furniture from selected public areas and restaurants; furniture from 130 suites and rooms, including the famous Winston Churchill suite; 400 tableware items and an array of bath linens embroidered with the hotel’s monogram.
French auction house Artcurial will curate proceedings, which are preceded by a four-day exhibition where the 150-year-old property can vaunt its wares.
The exclusive sale is part of stage one of the renovation project, which is in turn part of a vast revalorisation program of Casino Square.
“Our commitment to Hotel de Paris legendary history is unwavering, which is why we wish to share it with our customers during this emotional event,” explained Luca Allegri, Hotel de Paris’ general manager.
The Hôtel de Paris was inaugurated shortly after the magnificent Monte-Carlo Casino, imagined by Francois Blanc, the founder of the Société des Bains de Mer.
