The name’s Bond. Oh, the car? That’s the new Aston Martin DB10, built specially for the upcoming Bond blockbuster, Spectre.
The British marque has worked hard to assemble just 10 limited-edition cars, which will not go on sale in any dealerships.
We would like to report that Q branch had a hand in the design, but the carmaker announced that director Sam Mendes provided consultation, assuring that the vehicles would suit the style of the film and would weather the challenges faced during production.
Aston Martin has been a little coy on the details (which seems apt for a super spy’s supercar), but many motoring outlets have reported that the new DB10 will have the same 4.7 litre V8 as the Vantage.
The sleek auto is set to debut in 2016 - hopefully with a bevy of handy gadgets for Daniel Craig. This week’s unveiling also marks 50 years since Bond first drove Aston, when Sean Connery drove the DB5 in Goldfinger.
“It is great news for this company and for everyone around the world that loves to see Bond at the wheel of an Aston Martin. I'm incredibly proud of everyone in the team at Gaydon who have brought this special project from concept to reality,”said Aston Martin CEO, Dr Andy Palmer.
