Marriott International celebrated the relaunch of its landmark Middle East property in Riyadh, which first opened more than 30 years ago.
The extensive brand refresh cost “millions of riyals” and took one and a half years, but the Riyadh Marriott has now reached a new level of style and sophistication, its owners say.
“The Greatroom Lobby at the Riyadh Marriott Hotel is stunning with an Arabian oasis atmosphere,” said Muin Serhan, general manager of the Riyadh Marriott.
“Our guests can socialize, unwind, work or dine in this up-scale space where they can enjoy the ambience created by the spectacular light installations, Mashrabiya wooden screens, glass mosaics, water feature and plush seating,” he added.
Among the new additions to the hotel are the new Royal Suite and exclusive airline crew lounge. The complex can now also boast the largest hotel gym in the city, packed with LifeFitness equipment, as well as an indoor pool and Jacuzzi to build on the previous spa treatment zone.
The ladies-only gym is also well stocked and the new squash and rooftop tennis courts are discretely placed on the roof of the hotel.
The 418 rooms have been remodeled for a more contemporary look, adding in the brand’s favoured red hues. And for business, the all-new executive lounge provides skyline views of Riyadh, as well as complimentary food and beverages throughout the day.
Marriott Hotels currently operates 16 hotels across seven Middle Eastern countries, comprising a total of 5,397 rooms. By 2017, there will be a further 13 properties across the region, raising the room count by nearly 3,000 rooms.
